lizard videos 🦎
Welcome to my lizard video page! AKA probably my favorite animals of all!!! ❤️
I cannot stand videos showing animals being harmed by humans, whether it's an irresponsible pet owner (sadly there are many videos of people filming their pet in dangerous situations because they think it's funny or don't realize the pet is in danger) or someone harassing a wild animal (provoking it or trying to make the animal bite them), so I do not include such videos on this page.
As usual, I have also included content warnings (cw's) in case things like lizards eating live bugs ick you out. I hope you find some of these videos interesting!

Glossary
- herping - the activity of going outside (such as on a hike) in search of herps (reptiles & amphibians) to observe them in their natural habitat; often includes catching herps, examining them while holding them with a gentle but secure and steady grip (so as not to harm the animal) so it can be seen up close, and releasing it back into the wild
- herpetology - the scientific study of herps (reptiles & amphibians); a branch of zoology
- beardie - short for "Bearded Dragon", an affectionate nickname used by pet owners and other enthusiasts of this popular lizard; does not refer to any particular species of the Bearded Dragon genus, Pogona, but Pogona vitticeps (AKA the Central or Inland Bearded Dragon) is the species most commonly kept as a pet
- leachie - short for "Leachianus Gecko", an affectionate nickname that refers to a species of gecko, Rhacodactylus leachianus, that is becoming increasingly popular as a pet

Removed Videos:
- Spike vs. Squirrel (Bearded Dragon lizard) (a pet Bearded dragon and a wild Gray Squirrel react to one another while separated by a glass window; no animals are harmed in this funny and unusual interaction) -- Why was it removed? While I don't think there's anything wrong with this video, I discovered that the uploader released a second video in which they open the porch door, allowing the lizard and squirrel to possibly interact directly. They don't get close enough to each other to fight, but I still think this action is irresponsible pet ownership because the pet lizard and the wild animal could have injured one another or spread diseases or parasites.
